What You Should Know
Here are some key points in hiring a public adjuster:
- Find one suited for your needs
- i.e. if you are a homeowner with hail damage to your roof, try to find a firm that specializes in roofing (like us!).
- Always review the Letter of Representation (LOR) before you sign.
- Every pubic adjusting firm has to get their contract (LOR) approved by the Department of Insurance to make sure it is fair to the policyholder, but you should still always carefully review the LOR before you sign.
- Ask questions so you can learn more about the claims process.
- Remember, the claims process can take time, so do not worry if goes on for 2 or 3 months because that is normal.
THE ROLE OF A PUBLIC ADJUSTER
Public adjusters are licensed professionals who work on behalf of policyholders to ensure they receive fair and just compensation from their insurance companies after facing property damage or loss, such as hail damage. Their expertise lies in assessing the extent of damage, reviewing insurance policies, and negotiating with insurance companies to ensure policyholders receive the maximum payout they are entitled to. In the aftermath of a hailstorm, individuals and businesses are often left dealing with not only the physical devastation but also the complexities of insurance claims. This is where Public adjusters step in, offering a range of valuable services.
